Institution Notes:
This institution can trace its history back to 1841 as York Diocesan Training School for teacher education. In 1974 it became the College of Ripon & York St John and in 2006 its name was changed to York St John University. It is a Church of England college affiliated with the University of Leeds. The University houses the National Centre for Early Music as well as a newly established International Centre of Community Music. Facilities include well-equipped music technology rooms, recording studios and a collection of percussion and ethnic instruments.
